The Freeman Stage
 

 

It was Josh’s dream to create an arts center in Sussex County, Delaware.  Research is underway and the beginning stages of development for the Joshua M. Freeman Center for The Arts at Bayside have begun. This center, located at Bayside near Fenwick Island, will serve not only as a community arts center, but also as a touchstone for what we hope will become a larger arts movement in the Delmarva region.  The facility will include space for art, dance and music classes, theatrical performances, concerts and more.

To begin our journey towards making a permanent home for arts experiences in Sussex County, we launched The Freeman Stage at Bayside in the summer of 2008.  Over ten weeks we partnered with artists and performers and welcomed nearly 15,000 people to wonderful performances, movies, and children's workshops on our stage.      

The 2008 season was a huge first step towards bringing exceptional arts experiences to the region, and our commitment doesn't stop there.  The 2009 season is underway, and we have even more great arts in store.  Check out our new website for The Freeman Stage to learn more!
